Chinese Firms Raise US$ 8 Bln in August IPOs

(Beijing) - A total of 35 companies raised US$8.6 billion through initial public offerings (IPOs) in August, according to consulting firm Zero2IPO.

Thirty-one out of 35 companies floated IPOs on mainland Chinese markets, raising US$ 8.6 billion. Sixteen companies went public on Shenzhen-based ChiNext, 12 on small and medium-sized enterprise boards, and three on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The number of Chinese companies listed overseas was dramatically down in August compared to July, with two in Hong Kong and two on the New York Stock Exchange.
