Academic Calls for Gov't to Exit Land Market

(Beijing) -- A legal scholar has openly called for the government to exit the land market and asked for reforms in land ownership.

Land in China is still state-owned. The government has in recent years downplayed the land ownership issue and focused more on land use rights, Wang Weiguo, a professor at China University of Political Science and Law, told a forum on June 17.
