No Point in Protesting against Protests

The mass protests in Shifang, Sichuan Province, against the building of a new copper plant have quieted, and the plan has been shelved. What happens next must follow the law, and government officials would do well to reflect on the lessons learned because this kind of protest is becoming typical in China.
