(Beijing) – Chinese makers of electric cars sold only 235 units globally in the second quarter, down 31 percent from the first quarter, a McKinsey & Co. report released on October 22 said.
The 31 percent decline was the highest among the countries in the report, the New York-based management consulting firm said.
Battery shortages, reduced supply and weak demand were to blame for weak domestic sales, Axel Krieger, co-head of McKinsey's Automotive Practice in Greater China, said.
