China Loans Costa Rica US$ 400 Mln during Xi Visit

(San Jose, Costa Rica) – China has signed agreements to lend Costa Rica almost US$ 400 million at a meeting between President Xi Jinping and Laura Chinchilla, his counterpart in the Central American country.
The loans, meant to allow Costa Rica to invest in infrastructure, were signed by China's Import-Export Bank on June 3 and await the approval of Costa Rica's congress.
