As the annual sessions of the country's top legislative and political advisory bodies open in Beijing, delegates and representatives from around the country are gathering. In addition to their policy proposals and suggestions, the public is also interested in their backgrounds.

Among the 6,000 some participants of this year's "lianghui," 94 are business leaders that are among the 400 wealthiest Chinese people listed by Forbes last year, including 52 delegates of the National People's Congress (NPC) and 42 member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). By the end of last year, their combined assets exceed 1 trillion yuan, a 200 billion yuan increase from the previous year.
