UnionPay International launches premium catering privilege U Dining Collection

On May 18, UnionPay International announced the launch of its premium catering privilege program, the U Dining Collection. The program incorporates globally renowned restaurants into the UnionPay Premium Privilege Platform for the first time, to offer exclusive privileges and services to UnionPay premium card (Platinum and Diamond) holders.

According to the latest data, more than 6.5 billion UnionPay cards have been issued worldwide, and the number of premium cards issued is growing rapidly. So far, 17 national banks in mainland China have issued UnionPay premium cards, and large numbers of premium cards are issued in markets such as Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia and Russia. In this context, UnionPay International is accelerating the construction of its Premium Privilege Platform as a significant part of its global card-using service system. Previously, UnionPay International incorporated Global Assistance, Global Concierge and UnionPay VIP Lounge into its card-using service platform. Now, it has extended the privilege to a number of famous merchants.

U Dining Collection is a global catering privilege program created by UnionPay International over the past 18 months. Based on its transaction data and market research, UnionPay International has selected popular merchants in and outside mainland China to extend the merchants’ short-term offers to long-term privileges. Eighty renowned restaurants joined the program, including Michelin-starred restaurants, those run famous chefs, restaurant chains and featured restaurants.

U Dining Collection has many advantageous features: Firstly, it covers merchants both in and outside mainland China, including famous brands in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and Italy, as well as in Shanghai and Guangzhou. This allows overseas cardholders to also enjoy privileged services in mainland China. Secondly, the participating merchants are high-end. In particular, it is the first time that Michelin-starred restaurants such as Restaurant ANDRÉ and Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet have cooperated with a bankcard brand. Thirdly, various forms of privileges are available, including discounts, free gifts, free beverages, free desserts and pre-ordering.

From now to April 30, 2018, UnionPay premium cardholders may dial the UnionPay premium hotline of the issuing country or region in advance to make appointments at participating restaurants. Cardholders are able to enjoy the privileges in the restaurants after verifying their identity.
