President Khaltmaagiin Battulga to Head Mongolia’s Delegation at 4th Eastern Economic Forum

The President of Mongolia, Khaltmaagiin Battulga heads the delegation of his state to the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which takes place in Vladivostok on 11–13 September. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation Banzragch Delgermaa made this statement at a meeting in Moscow with Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum. The Ambassador noted that this would be the second visit of the Mongolian leader to Russia for the Eastern Economic Forum.

Banzragch Delgermaa emphasized that about 80 officials and business representatives of Mongolia are to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum, noting that “the trade turnover between the two countries grew by 40% within the seven months of 2018”.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the programme of events of the Mongolian delegation at EEF 2018. The details of holding a bilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia and Mongolia at the Forum received particular attention. Before that, they have already met in June this year during the SCO summit in Qingdao, PRC. Also, the option of Mongolian delegation to visit a seafood processing factory and shipyard in Primorye was discussed.

Moreover, the parties discussed the participation of Mongolian athletes in the annual International Jigoro Kano Junior Judo Tournament, which is to be held for the second time in Vladivostok under the patronage of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.

Summing up the meeting, Anton Kobyakov expressed the hope that the participation of the representative Mongolian delegation in the events of the EEF 2018 will contribute to the expansion of substantive Russia–Mongolia cooperation. “I am confident that the second visit of the President of Mongolia to the Forum will be an important milestone in the development of relations between the two states,” Anton Kobyarov emphasized.

The Eastern Economic Forum is held annually with the objective of facilitating the accelerated development of the Russian Far East’s economy and expanding international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region in accordance with the Executive order of the President of the Russian Federation No. 250 of 19 May 2015.
