Algae blooms in the Fuhe River in Nanchang, Jiangxi province on Thursday. This strech of river has witnessed several algae outbreaks in recent years. The explosion in the number of the tiny plants, which is often a result of industrial discharge into the river, has exhausted the oxygen in the water and led to the deaths of other organisms living in the water.
