Gallery: Sailing to Stargaze

On the cusp of summer, the “pearl of the plateau,” Lugu Lake, becomes a haven for stargazers. Located in the mountains that straddle Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, Lugu Lake is free of the air and light pollution that plague China’s cities. According to the state-owned China Daily, the city home to Lugu Lake received 605,000 visitors during the recent May Day holiday
