New Provincial Party Chiefs Appointed Ahead of National Congress

The Chinese Communist Party has appointed three new party chiefs for the central and northwest regions, in the latest top provincial level leadership reshuffle ahead of the national party congress scheduled to take place in autumn.


The appointments were announced by the party’s Organization Department on Tuesday, bringing the total number of provincial level regions with new party chiefs to 14 in the run-up to the national party congress. The outgoing appointment holders are stepping down due to their age, according to a local media report.
