A former senior executive at a state-owned insurance giant has been expelled from the Communist Party and public office after a corruption investigation that cited indulgence in personal hobbies, widely interpreted as a reference to his long-running pigeon-racing obsession.
Yu Ze, a former vice president of The People’s Insurance Co. (Group) of China Ltd., was found to have committed serious violations of law and party discipline, according to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), China’s top anti-corruption watchdog.
