Full-Time Editor

The Editor's responsibilities will include both line and copy editing for stories on economic, financial and company news on deadline, and doing a variety of other activities, such as promoting stories on social media and editing and producing short pieces for the Caixin Flash of breaking financial news.

Requirements: Applicants should have at least five years working experience as an editor, preferably including some in business and financial writing, with strong command of the AP Stylebook and total fluency in English

Curation Reporter

This reporter will join Caixin Global's brand-new Curation team. The team of 2-3 will help expand the publication's audience by compiling daily newsletters, directing social media and doing original reporting to complement the newsroom's regular coverage.

The role is multi-faceted and will serve as a bridge between Editorial and Marketing. The team will monitor news sources for items to distill into newsletters, analyze traffic, implement new social media strategies and create original content with a focus on engagement. She or he must have strong news judgment and be able to write and edit quickly and clearly. Multimedia ability is an asset.

Requirements: The candidate should have at least two years of financial journalism experience as well as experience with social media including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and WeChat. The ideal candidate should possess native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and strong command of English, understand the complex China market, and be able to work both independently and closely with our fast-growing editorial and marketing teams.

Fall-Semester Interns

Caixin Global is seeking interns to perform a variety of tasks in a busy newsroom, such as picking photos for daily stories, helping reporters by preparing charts for their news articles, doing translations, and preparing videos and writing stories. Successful applicants must have a strong command of written and spoken English. Internships are based in the Caixin Global newsroom in Beijing.

Requirements: At least a two-day commitment each week is a must for a minimum of three months during the fall semester period through to Chinese New Year. A focus in college on finance and/or journalism preferred.
