It’s been 14 years since Comac started developing the C919

(Bloomberg) — China certified a homegrown aircraft intended to rival Boeing Co. and Airbus SE single-aisle jets, photos on social media showed Thursday.

China’s aviation agency issued type certification Thursday for Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China Ltd. (Comac)’s C919 in a ceremony, the photos show. A representative of the Civil Aviation Administration of China didn’t immediately respond to a request for confirmation.
