U.S. University Admissions Officers Courted with Subsidized Trips to China
(Beijing) — Recent media reports that some Chinese education agencies buy U.S. college admissions officers trips to China so they can meet applicants have fueled speculation that bribery is part of the recruitment process.
"Fraud has been a recurring stain in this industry for more than a decade, but the subsidized trip is a new trend," Xiong Bingqi, a renowned educationist and deputy director of the 21st Century Education Research Institute, told Caixin.
