Bona Film’s Shares Jump in Shenzhen Debut as Profit Surges

What’s new: Chinese filmmaker Bona Film Group Co. Ltd. (001330.SZ) soared 58.3% in its first two days of trading on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange after raising 1.4 billion yuan ($207.6 million) in a long-awaited IPO for an industry hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Privately-owned Bona’s share price surged during its Thursday debut, closing up 43.9% at 7.24 yuan. The stock ended trading in Friday’s morning session after jumping 10% — the intraday cap — to 7.96 yuan apiece.
