Honda’s China Plant Remains Closed Amid Extended Power Cuts

(Bloomberg) — Honda Motor Co.’s plant in the Chinese city of Chongqing will remain closed this week as the local government extended an order to curb power use and halt factory operations, the Japanese automaker said.
Every manufacturer in the Chongqing region is subject to the order, and it hasn’t been decided when it will be lifted, according to a Honda spokesman who declined to be identified because of internal policy. The previous directive was to expire Aug. 25.
