CATL offering steep discounts to carmakers in quid pro quo deal

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), the world’s largest electric-vehicle (EV) battery-maker, is seeking to build stronger partnerships with automakers by offering them steeply discounted prices in a bid to further consolidate its market dominance amid tough competition with smaller rivals, Caixin has learned.
