China Exports Surge in January

(Beijing) -- China's exports jumped by 37.7 percent in January from a year ago, beating expectations of many economists. The January export figure was also 17.9 percent up from December 2010.
Meanwhile, the January trade surplus narrowed as imports increased at a much higher margin – 51 percent. China's trade surplus fell to US$ 6.5 billion from US$ 13.1 billion dollars in December 2010.
