A Lesson for China's Nuclear Strategy

(Beijing) – China's existing nuclear plants are on full alert, as Japan races against time to save its earthquake-stricken nuclear power complex from a complete meltdown. In Beijing, environmental regulators have begun to voice concerns over safety standards within China's recently-developed nuclear power industry.
On March 16 the troubled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant suffered yet another setback, as a third explosion hit its No. 2 reactor, possibly damaging its critical containment structure which prevents dangerous radioactive materials from leaking out. Radiation levels soared after the explosion, according to Japanese authorities.
