China Launches On-Grid Benchmark Prices for Solar Power

(Beijing) -- The National Development and Reform Commission on August 1 announced on-grid benchmark prices for solar power, which analysts say is positive for the growth of the sector.

According to an online statement by the NDRC, China's top economic planning body, the on-grid price will be 1.15 yuan per kilowatt hour for solar projects constructed before the end of 2011. On-grid prices will be at 1 yuan per kilowatt hour for projects completed after this year.
