Covec to Face 200 Mln Euro Claim for Violating Polish Highway Contracts
(Warsaw) -- Polish authorities are seeking 200 million euros in compensation from China Overseas Engineering Group Co. (Covec) for reneging on a major highway construction contract, Caixin learnt from Poland's road authority.
In an interview with Caixin on September 16, General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA) Legal Director Jakub Troszynski said the claim includes four months of projected toll losses due to delayed road construction, plus a 10 percent fine.

Troszynski said GDDKiA has employed Chinese lawyers in preparation to file a lawsuit against Covec in China or Poland.
