Premier Wen Urges Reflection Over Wang Lijun Incident

(Beijing) – Speaking at his last National People's Congress press conference, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao commented on the Wang Lijun debacle, and advised authorities in Chongqing to engage in diligent reflection and draw lessons from the incident.

The March 14 conference marked the closing of this year's annual legislative meeting. Premier Wen said the central government's ongoing investigation over the rumored defection of a high-level police chief is being handled with the utmost seriousness.
