ZTE and UnionPay to Launch Mobile Payment Services

(Beijing) – Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE Corp. has partnered with domestic bank card organization UnionPay to develop mobile payment services, according to a source from ZTE. The company is set to release a new mobile phone model next year which will feature mobile payment services.
According to the agreement signed on December 20 in Shanghai, ZTE and UnionPay will cooperate in application development and service networks for mobile payment services. In addition to the development of mobile phone with near-field communication (NFC) function, ZTE will also partner with UnionPay to explore payment services through IPTV.
