New Movie Version of Journey to the West Is Box Office Hit

(Beijing) – The comedy adventure movie Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons had 640 million yuan in ticket sales in its first eight days, raising expectations it will become the country's new box office king.

Huayi Brothers Media Group Co., the film's major investor, said the first-day ticket sales on February 10 were 76.9 million yuan, breaking a record set by Painted Skin: The Resurrection, which had 70 million yuan in sales on June 28.
