(Beijing) – The Spring Festival and the Year of Horse are just around the corner, but private cinema company Beijing Galloping Horse Media Co. Ltd. is not in a festive mood.
The company's founder and chairman, Li Ming, died from a heart attack in the capital on January 2 before he could celebrate the 48th birthday.
Galloping Horse announced Li's death the next day without saying who will succeed him, clouding the future of the company, which made its name overseas in 2012 by acquiring the Hollywood's Digital Domain, a bankrupt visual and special effects firm founded by director James Cameron.
