Shadow Cold War: The Sino-Soviet Competition for the Third World

The Sino-Soviet split manifested itself in both ideological and geopolitical competition in the Third World from the late 1950s to the mid-1970s. What seemingly began as an ideological struggle over which country would lead the international communist movement, ended as a geopolitical struggle over which of the communist giants exercised more influence and control over key Third World nations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
