China's Top Economic Planner and Finance Ministry Should Merge, Experts Say

(Deqing, Zhejiang) — China's economic planning agency and the nation's Finance Ministry should merge to improve the efficiency of managing major construction and infrastructure projects, a former ministry official said.

Jia Kang added that the concept has been debated and studied for two decades. Jia is the former director of the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences under the Minsitry of Finance.
