Developer? Here’s what’s happening at RISE

It’s not long until RISE kicks off in one of our favourite cities in the world - Hong Kong. We’re expecting over 16,000 people with every job title you can imagine - marketers, bankers, engineers, designers, and developers - and we’ve got incredible content lined up for every one of them.

You’re a developer. You want to maximise your RISE experience, but at a conference that has something for everyone, how do you separate the “must-see” content from the rest? Well, first you read this blog. We’ve listed all the developer-focused elements of RISE right here, so you can tailor your week to your interests, career development, and networking.

Developer lounge

There's a lot going on at RISE, and you'll need somewhere to catch your breath during the day. The developer lounge is the perfect place to relax with a much-needed coffee, network with other developers, or catch up on some work from the office. You could meet your next business partner, or just take a few quiet minutes before getting back to the exhibition floor.

RISE has 15 tracks across three days, so you're guaranteed to find something that will suit your interests. We'd recommend stopping by every stage at least once, but we have two tracks you definitely won't want to miss.

FullSTK: The ultimate developer gathering. FullSTK explores the rapidly evolving world of code, what we’ve seen so far, and what’s coming next. It’s a great place to meet others in your field, find collaborators for your latest project, and hear from some of the most influential developers in the industry. Hear from speakers like Lucas Ngoo, Dandan Shan and Viral Shah at our developer conference.’s world runs on data, but are we using it to its full potential?, our developer conference, tackles the questions that need answers before data infiltrates every aspect of our lives. Should data be freely available or should intellectual property continue to be respected? AI is moving faster than ever, but are we ready for the consequences? Experts will be discussing these issues and more on our stage.

Each year, a selection of our RISE partners take to the stage to share their skills with our developer attendees. Our partner workshops are an opportunity for you to hear from the biggest companies in the world, see what’s next for the industry, and learn new skills to bring back to your company. Previous workshop hosts include AWS, Brightline, IBM, and Facebook. We'll be releasing more information about our 2019 partner workshops closer to the event, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Night Summit

You didn’t think it was all work, did you? After a day at RISE, you’ll be ready to take the conversation away from the exhibition floor. Night Summit is RISE’s after-hours event, showing you and your fellow attendees a different side of Hong Kong each evening of the conference. There’s something to suit every taste, from intimate networking sessions to private parties, held in some of the city’s most captivating venues. Look out for developer-focused gatherings taking place throughout the week.

Getting excited yet? Our schedule will be released in the coming weeks, and you can use the RISE app to start planning your days at the conference. You can also search through our attendee list by country, industry, and interests, to find the people you want to meet at the event.
