[Plenary Session] ESG Performance and Value Creation
Affected by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the economic downturn and the like, ESG investing is somewhat challenged in the short run. Recent Tesla ESG removal sparked a row with Elon Musk, which has further revealed the long-standing controversy over ESG standards and evaluation methods. Can ESG investing create better returns in the current market? How can we explain the short- and long-term performance of ESG products? Is it advisable to carry on ESG practice and investing, and how? How can we develop a scientific reporting and evaluation mechanism for ESG performance? How can enterprises translate their ESG practice into a value creation process? How can capital markets support long-termism?
