(Nikkei Asia) — Japan will launch an umbrella organization for the nascent fusion power industry in March, bringing together players from the private sector, government and academia to develop technology and sales channels for commercialization.

Participants will include engineering companies like IHI, JGC Holdings and Obayashi; energy group Inpex; and such startups as Kyoto Fusioneering and EX-Fusion, as well as materials-makers and trading houses. The government will continue to recruit members until its launch.
