Zhang Dandan 张丹丹
Deputy Dean of National School of Development, Peking University 北京大学国家发展研究院副院长
As a professor of economics and deputy dean at the esteemed National School of Development, Peking University, Dandan Zhang is a figure of academic authority. Her standing is further solidified by her roles as a Youth Cheung-Kong Scholar and Peking University Boya Young Scholar. Zhang’s influence extends beyond the university, as she serves as an executive director of the China Labor Economics Association, chairs the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Flexible Employment, and represents China as an executive committee member of the Asian and Australasian Society of Labor Economics (AASLE).

Zhang graduated from the Australian National University with a Ph.D. in Economics. Her research areas include labor economics, applied econometrics, and experimental economics, with a particular focus on the welfare of vulnerable groups during transition periods, the impact of social and institutional changes on human behavior, and new labor market phenomena such as artificial intelligence and flexible employment.

Her academic work has been published in top international and domestic journals, including the Economic Journal, Nature: Human Behaviour, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, China Economic Review, Journal of Asian Economics, Review of Income and Wealth, Economic Research Journal (jingjiyanjiu), and China Economic Quarterly (jingjixuejikan).

Over the past years, Zhang has been at the helm of pivotal projects generously funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund, and primary research initiatives under the National High-End Think Tank. Her role as an expert in discussions organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Bureau of Statistics, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has seen her provide invaluable policy advice on issues such as epidemic control, employment, and the socio-economic impact of AI. The General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the State Council, and other relevant ministries and commissions have adopted her policy reports, a testament to her influence in the field.
张丹丹,北京大学国家发展研究院经济学教授、博士生导师、北大博雅青年学者、教育部长江青年学者。现任北京大学国家发展研究院副院长,此外她担任中国劳动经济学会常务理事,并担任“人工智能与灵活就业”专委会的会长一职,积极推动人工智能和就业的相关研究。同时,她代表中国担任本届亚澳劳动经济学家协会(AASLE)执行委员会委员。

张丹丹毕业于澳大利亚国立大学,获经济学博士学位,研究领域为劳动经济学、应用计量经济学和实验经济学,特别关注转型期弱势群体的福利问题,以及社会变革、制度文化冲击对人行为的影响,以及人工智能和灵活就业等劳动力市场上的新现象和新问题。其学术成果发表在Economic Journal, Nature: Human Behaviour, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, China Economic Review, Journal of Asian Economics, Review of Income and Wealth,《经济研究》,《经济学(季刊)》等国内外经济学或一般科学类顶级期刊。

近几年,她主持多项国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家社会科学基金重点项目和国家高端智库重点研究课题;曾多次作为专家组成员参与人力资源与社会保障部、国家统计局和国家疾控中心组织的专题座谈和讨论,对疫情防控政策和就业问题提供了政策建议;其研究成果形成的资政报告被中共中央办公厅、国务院和相关部委采纳。
