Guoqing Zhao is the chairman of Mashang Consumer Finance. He acquired bachelor's degree from Nankai University, PHD from Tianjin University, and EMBA from CEIBS. Zhao is also a researcher of social sciences and a senior economist. During his career in JD.com, he served as the Vice Chairman and the Chief Strategy Officer. He is the member of the "Pioneer Entrepreneurs of Science and Technology for China’s National Support Program", also called the "Ten Thousand Top Talents Plan" devised by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. Zhao is also recognized as the Top Figures of Scientific Innovation and Entrepreneurship by Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, among whom he is the only one from a financial institution.
