Slav Hermanowicz is a Professor of Graduate School at the University of California at Berkeley where he has conducted research and teaching in the area of environmental protection with special emphasis on physical sustainability, environmental biotechnology, energy transition, and water management. He worked in China and Europe for more than three decades in education and as business advisor. Slav is also involved in entrepreneurship both as an academic activity in teaching entrepreneurship and as a practitioner.

Slav is the Associate Director and a founding Core Principal Investigator at the Tsinghua Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI), a collaborative project between Berkeley and Tsinghua University with 60 faculty and 400+ graduate students. He was a National High-End Foreign Expert of China. At the Tongji University in Shanghai he managed projects on wastewater treatment and water reuse as Honorary Visiting Professor and the Shanghai 1000 Talent Expert. He was a Visiting Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Study at the Technical University of Munich.

Among his most important awards was the inaugural Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Sustainability at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna. He was educated in his native Poland (M.Sc.) and at the University of Toronto (Ph.D.).
Slav Hermanowicz是加利福尼亚大学伯克利分校的研究生院教授,主要在环境保护领域开展研究和教学,特别关注物理可持续性、环境生物技术、能源转型和水资源管理。他在中国和欧洲的教育领域以及商业咨询领域工作长达三十余年。赫曼诺维奇教授还积极培育创业精神,既在教学中进行创业学术活动,也作为实践者参与其中。

赫曼诺维奇教授在伯克利大学与清华大学的合作项目——清华-伯克利深圳学院(TBSI)中担任共同副院长和创始核心首席科学家。学院拥有60名教师和400多名研究生。他曾是中国国家高端外国专家。在上海同济大学期间,他作为荣誉访问教授和上海千人计划专家管理废水处理和水资源再利用项目。他还曾是慕尼黑工业大学高等研究院的访问学者。

他最重要的荣誉之一是在维也纳自然资源与应用生命科学大学(BOKU)任职富布赖特可持续发展杰出讲席教授。他在祖国波兰获得硕士学位,并在多伦多大学获得博士学位。
