


Tan Sri Sheng is a member of International Advisory Council of National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA) and China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), China and he is one of the Chief Executive's Council of Advisers, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He is also a member of International Advisory Council, China Investment Corporation (CIC).
Tan Sri Sheng sits in the Advisory Board of Bank Indonesia Institute. He is a member to Commission on Global Economic Transformation, chaired by Nobel Laureates Stiglitz and Spence. He sits in the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC) Leadership Council and as a Distinguished Fellow, Institute for Capital Market Research, Malaysia.
He served as Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2005, having previously been a central banker with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Bank Negara Malaysia. He also worked with the World Bank from 1989 to 1993. From 2003 to 2005, he chaired the Technical Committee of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). He was a Board Member of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia. He was an International Advisory Board Member of Thailand Development Research Institute.
He has a First Class Honours in Economics from Bristol University, and Honorary Doctorates from University of Bristol and University of Malaya. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing and Faculty of Economics, University of Malaya. He is a Professor by Practice at School of Business and Administration, Wawasan Open University, Malaysia. He also the distinguished professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen campus.
Tan Sri Sheng is author of “From Asian to Global Financial Crisis: An Asian Regulator’s View of Unfettered Finance in the 1990s and 2000s” (2009), and co-editor (with Ng Chow Soon) of the book, “Bringing Shadow Banking into the Light: Opportunity for Financial Reform in China” (2015). He writes regularly on international finance and monetary economics, financial regulation and global governance for Project Syndicate, AsiaNewsNet and leading economic magazines and newspapers in China and Asia. In April 2013, Andrew was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He also appeared in the Oscar-winning film “Inside Job” in 2011.
他现出任中国国家金融监督管理总局和中国国家证监会国际顾问委员会的国际委员会委员及香港特别行政区政府行政长官顾问委员会成员。他也是中国投资有限责任公司的国际委员会委员。

从1976 年至1989年,丹斯里沈担任马来西亚央行首席经济师及主管银行与保险业监管工作的助理行长。之后他在世界银行任职4年为金融发展部高级经理,专责金融市场和支付系统的工作。在1993年至1998年,他担任香港金融管理局副总裁,掌管储备管理部及外事经研部。1998年,在G22国集团财长和央行行长下设的“透明度和可靠性”工作组中担任联席主席。于 1998 年至2005 年出任了香港证券及期货事务监察委员会主席。他也担任过泰国发展研究所的国际顾问委员会成员。
2003 年至 2005 年,他担任国际证监会组织 (IOSCO) 技术委员会主席。2003年至2011年,他主持经合组织—亚洲开发银行主办的亚洲资本市场论坛。2011年至2014年,他也担任香港经纶国际经济研究院院长。同时,他在马来西亚国库控股集团(Khazanah Nasional Berhad)担任了9年的独立非执行董事。
他是英国布里斯托大学的署理名誉校长、香港大学亚洲全球研究院的杰出研究员、马来西亚宏愿开放大学(Wawasan Open University)乔治市开放与高级研究所(George Town Institute of Open and Advanced Studies)的主席。他是北京清华大学经济与管理研究生院和马来亚大学经济学院的兼职教授。同时,他也是马来西亚宏愿开放大学商业与管理学院的实践教授和香港中文大学(深圳)的特约教授。
丹斯里沈着有《银行业重组:1980年代的教训》(世界银行出版社,1996年出版)、《十年轮回:从亚洲到全球的金融危机》(剑桥大学出版社,2009年出版)、《监管:谁来保护我投资》(江苏文艺出版社,2010年出版)、《谁主宰我投资》(天窗出版社,2011年出版)、《金融、发展和改革》(中信出版社、2014年出版)、《影子银行阳光化:中国金融改革的新机遇》(与黄祖顺合著,上海远东出版社,2016年出版)。
此外,他定期为美国Project Syndicate、亚洲新闻网络AsiaNewsNet 以及中国财经、财新杂志、南华早报、南洋商报撰写国际金融和全球治理的相关文章。丹斯里沈联涛于2003年,被《财经时报》评为2003年百位经济风云人物。在 2013年,被《时代》杂志评为全球最具影响力的百人之一。同时他还参与出演 2011年的奥斯卡获奖影片《监守自盗》(Inside Job)。
