An economist by training, he currently serves on the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Thailand, the seven-member board tasked with setting the country’s interest rates and guiding monetary policy. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Thailand’s Government Pension Fund, helping oversee long-term asset allocation for the nation’s public sector retirement system.
Santitarn is actively engaged in shaping the future economy through multiple platforms. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Councils, a Future Economy Advisor at the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), and an Advisor to the Thai Parliament’s Commission on Artificial Intelligence Policy.
Previously, he was the Group Chief Economist and a member of the senior management team at Sea Ltd, the largest technology company in Southeast Asia. Prior to Sea, he was Head of Emerging Asia Economics Research at Credit Suisse, where he received several awards, including being named the best economic forecaster by Consensus Economics. He also served as an Independent Director of Ngern Tid Lor Ltd, a leading consumer finance company in Thailand.
As an advisor to the public sector, he was invited by the Thai government to serve on committees responsible for drafting the country’s 5-year SME Development Plan, e-commerce legislation, and post-COVID-19 economic reopening strategies. He has also served as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Community of Chief Economists and has spoken at the Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos.
He has published three books on the future economy, two of which became bestsellers and won awards in Thailand. His latest book, Twists and Turns, was selected as Book of the Year (2024) by the Matichon media group.
Santitarn holds a doctorate in Public Policy and a master’s degree in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics.

在公共政策咨询领域，他受泰国政府邀请参与国家五年中小企业发展规划制定委员会、电子商务立法委员会及新冠疫情后经济重启战略委员会。曾任世界经济论坛首席经济学家社区成员，并曾在达沃斯论坛年会发表演讲。
他已出版三部关于未来经济的著作，其中两部成为泰国畅销书并获奖。最新著作《迂回曲折》被玛滴冲传媒集团评为"2024年度最佳图书"。
桑蒂坦拥有哈佛大学公共政策博士学位、国际发展公共管理硕士学位，以及伦敦政治经济学院经济学学士和硕士学位。
