Dr. Zhao is the director of international political studies at the National Institute for Global Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (NIGS-CASS), one of the top government-affiliated think-tanks. He is concurrently a research fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWEP-CASS).
Dr. Zhao has done research on topics ranging from China-US relations, China’s foreign policy to global governance. Besides academic publications, he is a frequent international affairs opinion contributor to the China Daily and a guest commentator at the China Radio International (CRI) and the China Global Television Network (CGTN).
Previously, Zhao Hai worked as a research fellow at the National Strategy Institute of Tsinghua University (NSI), and held various positions at think tanks in Chicago and Washington D.C. in the United States.
Dr. Zhao obtained his PhD in international history from the University of Chicago. He also studied at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies, and graduated from Peking University with a a master’s degree in World History, and dual bachelor’s degree in history and law.
赵海博士现任中国社会科学院世界经济与政治研究所《世界经济调研》编辑部副主任、副研究员，中国社会科学院国家全球战略智库国际政治研究部主任。曾任清华大学国家战略研究院研究员。在美国芝加哥大学获得国际关系史博士学位，之前毕业于北京大学历史系，先后获得历史学法学双学士和历史学硕士学位，并曾在约翰斯霍普金斯-南京中美文化研究中心进修。在国内外多个智库做过研究，包括上海国际问题研究院，美国-亚洲研究院，美国21世纪研究院等。目前的主要研究领域是美国国内政治与中美地缘政治经济关系。赵海是中国国际电视台“对话”“欣视点”等时事栏目特约评论员，中国国际广播电台“今日中国”“国际锐评”等中英文栏目特约嘉宾。由他参与撰写的多份内参报告获得国家领导批示和相关部委重视，主持和参与国家社科基金重大专项、发改委、财政部等多项国家课题，并在学术期刊和多家报刊杂志上撰写有关美国政治和中美关系的文章。
