Karim Raslan Karim Raslan
CEO and Founder of the KRA Group KRA Group创始人、CEO
Karim Raslan is the CEO and Founder of the KRA Group, a public affairs consulting firm with an ASEAN-wide focus. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he is also a Southeast Asian commentator and columnist with over three decades of experience analysing the region's political, business, and social dynamics. He provides strategic direction for the KRA Group and intermittently advises clients across Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Drawing on decades of experience and deep relationships with editors, journalists, and newsrooms globally, Karim leads and advises on strategic media engagement for clients. In this role, he secures impactful international media exposure and provides invaluable counsel on navigating complex communications landscapes throughout Southeast Asia and beyond.

Karim is best known for his long-running syndicated column, Ceritalah—which means "tell me a story" in Malay and Indonesian. For over 25 years, Ceritalah has explored socio-political developments and current affairs in Southeast Asia, adopting a ground-up, human-focused approach to storytelling. Its most recent iteration, Ceritalah ASEAN, is published online in seven countries and translated into seven languages, reflecting its broad regional relevance and reach.

In addition to his writing, Karim has been a frequent commentator on Southeast Asian affairs for major international media platforms such as the BBC, CNN, CNBC, Al Jazeera, and Bloomberg.

He is also the author of five books, including Ceritalah: Malaysia in Transition, Heroes and Other Stories, Ceritalah 2: Journeys through Southeast Asia, Ceritalah 3: Malaysia the Dream Deferred, and Ceritalah Indonesia, his first title published in Bahasa Indonesia. Beyond writing, Karim has brought his storytelling to life through film and documentaries, helming three documentaries: Ceritalah Malaysia (2012), Ceritalah Indonesia (2014), and Keberagaman Agama (Religious Diversity, 2017), which explore key national narratives and themes such as elections and pluralism in the region.
