Ling Huawei 凌华薇

Ling Huawei is Managing Editor of Caixin Media and Caixin Weekly. She has extensive experience in financial journalism and has led and published a number of influential reports, including investigations into Lai Xiaomin of Huarong, Anbang Insurance, Who Bought Ping An?, and the Delong crisis and its resolution. Her article “The Yinguangxia Trap” received an honorary nomination for the 2002 George Polk Awards for International Journalism.

From May 2001 to November 2009, she successively served at Caijing magazine as a senior reporter, supervising editor for finance, and editorial board member of the magazine’s News Bureau.

Ling earned her bachelor’s degree from the Central University of Finance and Economics and a master’s degree in finance from Peking University’s China Center for Economic Research. She was a visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2006, and was awarded a Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University for the 2015–2016 academic year. 凌华薇现任财新传媒主编兼《财新周刊》主编。凌华薇在财经新闻报道领域有着丰富经验，主导、发表过多篇有影响力的报道，包括华融赖小民案调查、安邦调查、《谁买平安》、德隆危机与化解等，曾因《银广夏陷阱》一文，获得2002年“古索科国际新闻奖”荣誉提名奖。

2001年5月至2009年11月，先后任《财经》杂志高级记者、金融主管编辑、杂志新闻中心编委等职。

凌华薇女士本科毕业于中央财经大学，获北京大学中国经济研究中心金融学硕士学位。她曾为美国加州大学伯克利分校新闻学研究生院访问学者（2006年），曾获年度美国斯坦福大学奈特新闻奖学金（2015年-2016年）。
