Dr. Lin Yuan is a senior Principal Investigator at Peking University Health Science Center, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, and Shenzhen PKU-HKUST Medical Center. His research focuses on metabolic remodeling and cell fate determination.He received his PhD from the Academy of Military Sciences, PLA, in July 2015. In August 2015, he joined the Institute of Systems Biomedicine at Peking University as a Principal Investigator under the Hundred-Person Program. In August 2017, he served as a senior research scientist at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Harvard University, where his work centered on proteomics and metabolomics. An anti-cancer drug co-developed with his American colleagues was later licensed to Merck in a deal valued at US$2 billion. In January 2021, Dr. Yuan joined Shenzhen PKU-HKUST Medical Center and Peking University Shenzhen Hospital as a Principal Investigator under the Overseas High-Level Talent Program. As corresponding author, he has published in prestigious journals including Nature Cell Biology, Nature Chemical Biology, Cell Research, The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Neurotherapeutics, EMBO Reports, Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, FASEB Journal, Journal of Biological Chemistry, and Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology. He holds numerous Chinese invention patents and has led research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other sources. Dr. Yuan has received multiple honors, including the Best Researcher Award (ACA 2024), the Outstanding Research Scientist Award from UT Southwestern Medical Center, the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award, the Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award from the People's Liberation Army, and the title of Young Backbone Teacher from Peking University.
袁林博士的研究方向聚焦于代谢重塑与细胞命运决定。2015年7月，他获得中国人民解放军军事科学院医学研究院博士学位。2015年8月，他以"百人计划"加入北京大学系统生物医学研究所担任副研究员。2017年8月，他赴哈佛大学和德克萨斯大学西南医学中心从事博士后研究后担任高级研究科学家，主要从事蛋白质组学和代谢组学研究。期间，他与美国同事合作开发的一款抗癌药物后来以20亿美元的价格授权给默沙东公司。2021年1月，袁林博士以"海外高层次人才计划"入选者身份加入深圳北京大学-香港科技大学医学中心及北京大学深圳医院，担任研究员。作为通讯作者，他已在《自然·细胞生物学》（Nature Cell Biology）、《自然·化学生物学》（Nature Chemical Biology）、《细胞研究》（Cell Research）、《新英格兰医学杂志》（The New England Journal of Medicine）、《民族药理学杂志》（Journal of Ethnopharmacology）、《神经治疗学》（Neurotherapeutics）、《EMBO报告》（EMBO Reports）、《计算与结构生物技术杂志》（Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal）、《美国实验生物学会联合会杂志》（FASEB Journal）、《生物化学杂志》（Journal of Biological Chemistry）及《细胞与发育生物学前沿》（Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology）等权威期刊上发表多篇论文。他拥有多项中国发明专利，并主持了国家自然科学基金等多个科研项目。袁林博士曾获多项荣誉，包括美国癌症研究协会最佳研究员奖（ACA 2024）、德克萨斯大学西南医学中心杰出研究科学家奖、北京市科学技术奖一等奖、中国人民解放军优秀博士论文奖，以及北京大学青年骨干教师称号。
