    Topic I: Asia’s Economic Outlook

    Trade frictions, wealth disparities and populist tendency spark a backlash against globalization. How will major economies perform in the coming year? What is the scope of impact from China-U.S. trade tensions on the region and beyond? Will China translate the pressure from the ongoing trade tensions into opportunity to gear up for further reform and opening up?

    Topic II: Whither Business and Investment amid China-U.S. Trade Tensions

    Business communities bear the brunt of the China-U.S. trade tensions and have a major incentive to prevent the worst outcomes. What effect will prolonged trade dispute between China and the U.S. have on businesses? What are the chances and challenges for businesses amid China-U.S trade tensions? The new alignment will be lengthy. How should enterprises respond to it and adapt?

    Topic III: Financial Innovation and Regulation

    The interaction between financial regulation and innovation is a two-way street. What should be the appropriate policy response to financial innovations? How can regulators balance financial innovation with safety to minimize turbulence and risk? How to improve financial and technology literacy of the general public to make better, and safer, use of the new tools?

    * Guests will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will discuss a topic, hosted by a discussion leader. The discussion leader will summarize and report to the entire room.
