With Eye on Robotaxis, Xpeng Ups Investment in Key Technology

Chinese electric vehicle startup Xpeng Inc. is beefing up its investment in a technology that allows a car in motion to be aware of its surroundings as the Tesla wannabe sets its sights on robotaxis.

Xpeng led a pre-series C round for Zvision Technologies Co. Ltd., a Beijing-based startup that mainly develops lidar sensors for autonomous vehicles and intelligent robots, according to a statement (link in Chinese) on Monday.
