(.com.cn) The Intermediate People's Court of Nanchang in Jiangxi Province convicted August 12 four police officers on charges of intentional harm and obtaining confessions through torture.
One man was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and another got a one-year term. Two other officers, although found guilty, were excused from punishment.
The officers, whose names were not released, were charged in connection with the case of pharmaceutical salesman Wan Jianguo, who was detained without formal charges following the deaths of six patients at the No. 2 Hospital at Nanchang University last year.
