Guangdong Province Aims for 9% Growth
Guangdong province, China's economic powerhouse, has set its 2010 annual economic growth target at 9 percent, an increase from last year's 8.5 percent goal.
Provincial governor Huang Huahua announced the target in his government work report at a meeting held Friday. Huang said that economic situation improved in 2010 but was not good enough. The province will focus on adjusting economic structure and altering the province's growth model. Due to the global financial crisis, the export sector, Guangdong's major driver of the economy, slowed down.
