Sino-US: Looking Ahead

I am delighted to offer my good wishes on behalf of the entire U.S. mission in China – the Embassy in Beijing and our consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang and Wuhan – to the people of China for a happy and prosperous Year of the Tiger.

I have been privileged since I arrived in China in late August to travel widely in this great country and to work closely with the leaders and people of China to help build the positive, cooperative and comprehensive relationship envisaged by our two Presidents. In the process, I've been able to talk about the values, including the role of free and unfettered reporting, that have made America a great nation since its founding 234 years ago.
