Geithner Urges Equal Opportunity for U.S. Companies

(Beijing) – The U.S. government wants China to offer American exporters a wider market without second-class treatment, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said May 25.

"Our major concern now is to make sure that, as China continues to put in place policies to promote innovation in China… they do it in a way that doesn't disadvantage, discriminate against American companies," Geithner told Caixin in an exclusive interview following a Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) meeting between U.S. and Chinese officials in Beijing.
