CNOOC's Fu Chengyu: A Market-Driven Oil Man

(Beijing) – Toward the end of a grueling, three-hour interview, China National Offshore Oil Corp. President Fu Chengyu was asked about his personal plans.

Fu paused to draw imaginary circles on his leg – as he does whenever asked a difficult question – and described a plan to lead CNOOC into an elite club of giant international oil companies during China's 12th Five-Year Plan, which begins in 2011.
