Jiahe Life Fined Over Bribery Case

(Beijing) - Jiahe Life Insurance Co. Ltd. was fined 1.2 million yuan for the bribery of Agricultural Bank of China customer managers, according to a ruling by a local court in Liaoning Province.

Bai Yong, manager at Jiahe Life's Anshan branch, offered five employees at Agricultural Bank of China 1.05 million yuan in the name of commission fees to motivate the five to sell more of the company's insurance policies. In China, bank branches sell insurance policies as agents.
