Impending Capital Adequacy Ratio Hike for Banks

China's regulator will require banks to hold a capital conservation buffer of up to 5 percent within a certain framework in line with Basel III requirements, said several sources at commercial banks.


China's regulator, the China Regulatory Commission (CBRC), has denied rumors that capital adequacy ratios for large banks would be raised to 15 percent.
