The Etymology of Social Stability

Guess what the following three events have in common.

No. 1: Camellia oil sold in supermarkets as vegetable oil is found to contain high levels of cancer-causing agents. Knowing the truth, the authorities choose to hide reports of the oil's carcinogenic effects from the public.

No. 2: An unusual spike in tick-bite related deaths occur in one province of China. Several government departments have been tracking a disease spread by the blood-feeding insects but little information is released. News of the deaths spread panic, but the issue is not officially addressed.
